Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act

Press Release:

"This week I joined Whip Steve Scalise and many other passionate pro-life colleagues, survivors, and advocacy groups for a press conference to file a discharge petition for H.R. 962, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. Any Member of Congress can sign this petition, and, if we get 218 signatures, then the House must vote on this critical legislation that protects the hundreds of babies who are born alive. We are already at 198 signatures and we will not stop fighting until we get this bill to the Floor for a vote. You can watch our press conference and read my op-ed with Whip Scalise by clicking the links below.  We also led a group of our colleagues to the House Floor to sign the discharge petition as a show of force and a statement that every baby deserves lifesaving care. You can see House Republicans march with us to sign the petition here

"The Born Alive Act and saving newborn children should not be partisan issues. In recent polling, almost 70% of Democrats support legislation like mine that would ensure a baby who survives an abortion receives the same medical treatment as any other baby born prematurely. I spoke with Lauren Ashburn with EWTN on our efforts to advance this legislation and guarantee lifesaving care for all infants. Watch our segment here."

Sincerely,

Ann Wagner
Member of Congress
