Speaker Ryan Press Office:

"This huge tax cut will be rocket fuel for the economy." That was the message today when President Trump addressed the National Association of Manufacturers about the GOP’s unified framework for tax reform. This the day after Speaker Ryan visited Penn Machine Works, a family-owned and -operated pipe manufacturer in Aston, Pennsylvania to make the case for tax reform.

The President outlined core tenets of the plan, including cutting taxes for Americans, simplifying the tax code, and reducing taxes on American businesses. This week, job creators have come out in full force in support of our unified framework for tax reform. Tax reform is about encouraging American manufacturing, but doing so also grows the American Spirit, as President Trump said today.

“When we grow American manufacturing, we don’t only grow our jobs and wages – but also grow the American Spirit. When we purchase products Made in America, fashioned by our fellow citizens, we renew the bonds of national loyalty that link us all together. There is a great patriotism that lives inside the men and women who leave their hearts on the factory floors, who pour their hopes into works of iron and steel, and who turn dreams into reality with their own two hands," he said. “This can be remembered as the moment we took control of our destiny and chose a future of American Patriotism, Prosperity and Pride.”

It’s time to make American companies and workers competitive again, so we can help create jobs, fairer taxes, and bigger paychecks, a sentiment Speaker Ryan expressed in a speech at NAM's Manufacturing Summit in June.
